Popular web hosting service Dropbox is running a public beta test for its newest version of it's software coming out, the most notable feature of this update is the ability to have Dropbox detect when a device has been attached with photos and videos in it and upload them automatically. In order to entice people to try its new software out, the company is adding space to testers accounts in 500MB increments.
In order to get the additional storage, users must install the newest version of Dropbox (1.3.12), plug in a camera, smartphone or SD card and allow Dropbox to upload your photos and videos to your account. For every 500 MB of photos added, the user is granted another 500 MB addition to their account, up to 5 gigs!
Since this is a beta, it is suggested that users don't rely on Dropbox as the sole location of the photos, but otherwise this is a great chance to add more space to use with Dropbox's unique features.
